Well you're a real tough cookie with a long history
Of breaking little hearts, like the one in me

Dean watched Jo from across the bar as he brought the half-empty bottle of beer to his lips, liquid rolling over his tongue swallowing it. Her laughter floated over the noise as she placed a hand on some guys shoulder, brushing her body against him.

Dean’s jaw clenched, beer bottle slamming back down on the counter. He’d never had trouble getting women. Hell it seemed like every new place he went someone new threw themselves at him. He chewed them up and spit them out. It was a well honed skill of his.

A month ago, after one too many beers he’d done the same thing to Jo. He hadn’t meant for it to happen. So the next morning while she was still asleep he’d snuck out of her room and back into his and Sam’s room pretending like nothing had happened.

She’d been hurt. It hadn’t taken a genius to figure that out. Jo was a tough cookie, but Dean had a long history of breaking hearts of tougher. Ever since that night she’d prowled the bars with him and Sammy after each job, bringing home a new guy each time.

It drove him crazy. He didn’t know how much more he could take. He wasn’t sure why it pissed him off when the black haired jerk brushed Jo’s hair away from her face, or when he wound an arm around her body, hand falling lightly against her ass.

Sure he’d ignored their little adult sleepover, but that was because when he looked at Jo she made something inside him shift. She made him actually want a future and with the life they lead, well it just wasn’t possible.

So he ignored her and denied any and all attraction physical and emotional he had to her. It was better that way. Sam thought it was ridiculous, not that Dean had actually admitted he had feelings for the petite blonde, but somehow Sam knew more than Dean liked and he had a feeling that was Jo’s doing.

Another string of laughter had Dean glancing up. Now that black haired douche wasn’t just touching Jo, his lips were against the soft spot between her neck and shoulder, right under her ear. The spot that if Dean remembered correctly made her moan like a chick in a bad porno, but real.

He was done watching this sideshow. The legs of his stool scraped against the floor as he shoved it back, stood, and stalked in their direction. He was done playing games, he was about to shove her none to gently back in her place.

Before I put another notch in my lipstick case
You better make sure you put me in my place

Jo could smell stale beer and cigarette smoke on the loser currently squeezing her ass. She sighed inwardly. It had been a month since she’d slept with Dean. A month of flirting carelessly with guy after guy in bars across the country.

She had taken a guy home from every bar they went to, but in reality she had only slept with two of them. Hey everyone needed to get off once in a while and if Dean wasn’t up for the job, she had no trouble finding someone who was.

Ever since their little bedroom mishap she’d been waiting for him to get over himself enough to come clean about caring about her. She knew he did, it wasn’t like he hid it all that well.

It wasn’t that she was conceited or she thought she was some great prize. She’d been on the road with Sam and Dean for a while now and Jo knew how he operated. If he didn’t have any feelings for her then he would have stayed the night.

He would have woken up in the morning, joked about it and things would have gone back to normal. Instead he’d bailed, proceeded to ignore her, and went out of his way to flirt with every female in his vicinity since then.

Well two could play that game. He wanted to test the waters, see which one of them could last longer at pretending the other didn’t exist, fine. He could hit her with his best shot. She could feel his eyes on her and it made her spine tingle.

She caught the look on his face out of the corner of her eye and it looked like she wouldn’t have to wait long.. She giggled as the dark head in front of her descended between her neck and shoulder. If Dean didn’t hurry up she’d be putting another notch in her lipstick case.

The scratching of metal against wood was her first sign. She didn’t know how she knew it was him, but she did. Heavy boots hitting the floor as warm sticky lips closed around her pulse point. Before she even had a chance to wince the lips were gone from her body.

Startled she opened her eyes glancing at the scene before her. Dean had the back of the guy’s jacket in his hand as his pulled back his arm, slamming his fist into the guy’s nose. Jo bit her lip as the guy fell to the floor most likely unconscious.

You come on with your come-ons, you don't fight fair

He turned and she swallowed hard before glaring at him.

“What in the hell are you doing Dean?”

“What am I doing? What are you doing?”

She rolled her eyes.

“Having fun.”

He snorted.

“Yeah, I can see that...You don’t fight fair.”

She shrugged.

“And you do?”

His body tensed, but he smirked.

“I’m done with the games.”

“Great, want a cookie? You’re drunk. Go find Sam and have him drive you back to the motel.”

She turned away from him, but he reached out grabbing her arm. There was no way he was letting her go back to that bar to pick up another douche bag.

“I’m not drunk and you’re coming with me.”

“Dean no I’m…Christ put me down!”

Dean grinned as he hefted Jo over his shoulder and headed for the door to the bar, every eye in the room watching them. She punched at his back and his hand came down on her ass hard.

“Cut it out Jo.”

“You put me down right now Dean Winchester or I swear I’ll…”

“You’ll what? You think I’m blind? You’ve been trying to get my attention for a month now. Well guess what you’ve got it.”

He opened the passenger side door to the impala and tossed her in the car slamming the door shut behind her. He got in, started the car, and revved the engine.

When he jerked the car out of the lot Jo’s breathing hitched. She licked her lips as the tension filled car sped toward the motel. The corner of her mouth turned up into a smirk.

One month was all it took to tear through his iron clad will. Had she known it’d be so easy she would have done it sooner. Dean could see the satisfaction on Jo’s face, but he said nothing. A knowing smile spread across his face. Jo might have won the battle, but he’d win the war.
