Dean sighed, mud covered jacket hanging on his frame as he waited for his brother to pass him his duffle. Sam leaned over the open trunk and grabbed their bags. It had been a long day and they were exhausted. It had taken all three of them to take down one measly werewolf.

“Jo’s gonna be pissed.”

He snorted.

“It’s not like it’s my fault there was only one room left. She’s just gonna have to deal with it and stop being such a princess. I was even nice enough to say we'd get the stuff from the car so she could grab a shower first. Toss me my bag.”

Sam straightened up and threw Dean his bag before reaching back in and picking up Jo’s. He was just about to shut the trunk when a loud screech tore through the open motel room door. They glanced at each other briefly eyes wide before dropping the bags, grabbing their guns and running into the room.

The sight that greeted them had them stopping in their tracks. Jo stood on top of the bed, blonde hair strung with mud clad only in a towel as she screeched and pointed toward the corner.

“KILL IT KILL IT…”

They snapped out of it as they split up, guns raised and searched the room. She was pale, eyes wide as her back brushed up against the head board and the wall. Dean couldn’t possibly imagine what had her so freaked out.

He didn’t think he’d ever seen Jo so scared and it made something around his heart clench. He glanced up and Sam frowned before turning towards Jo.

“What…”

“There…look look ohmygod there’s morethanone…ehhh”

Between her ridiculously girlish yelps and the lack of anything Supernatural in the room Dean was convinced she’d finally lost her mind. That’s when he saw it. He spun around as the three furry rodents scurried across the dingy carpet.

She screamed again and Sam wacked the rodents with the butt of his gun until they ran outside the door. He slammed it shut and they turned slowly to face her. Jo swallowed hard and let out a nervous chuckle.

Dean pointed to the door a large grin spreading across his face. “Really? Mice? That’s what you’re afraid of? You spend your time helping us fight monsters on a daily basis and you’re afraid of mice?”

She shrugged and carefully climbed down from the bed glare on her face. “Yeah well at least I’m not afraid of clowns or heights. We all have our…things. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a shower to take.”

She walked haughtily into the bathroom slamming the door behind her. Sam shook his head as Dean plopped down on the bed. Sam watched his brother chuckle and sighed. “You’re never gonna let her live this down are you?”

Dean grinned. “Nope.”
